When my sisters and I went to Youmacon there was a t-shirt vendor that had some really awesome designs. Sadly none of the pix turned out that we took of the booth but one of the shirts that was most memorable featured the following image…

I knew it had to be a reference to something but what? I didn’t have to wait long for an answer. When the girls and I made our way home on the second day a certain song started playing on the radio and it clicked!

The Fox (What Does the Fox Say) by Ylvis is horrible when you are just listening to it but so much fun if you watched the video! XD Needless to say my sibs and I have been having a lot of fun listening to this.

Chubby Bunny Travels

Last weekend, my fiance Will and I celebrated our engagement with a shoujo manga (Japanese girls’ comics)-themed party, complete with manga DIY decorations, a magical cake, and all of our wonderful friends.

Will and I met in Japan, while we were living there teaching English for a few years. Our friends joked about how our relationship was like a corny shoujo manga story, which is where we got the idea for our theme! We are nerds through and through, and wanted to celebrate that along with our friends! (BTW “Labu labu” is a Japanese onomatopoeia word for being in love… la—bu.)

Like many brides-to-be, I spent a ridiculous amount of time scouring the internet for ideas on how to decorate our small venue on a non-existing budget, as well as incorporate our nerdy little theme. Luckily, there are already plenty of photos of vintage book crafts online, that I adapted…

I am thankful for my family who supported me through making the jump out of fast food into a job that pays a living wage. I am thankful for my siblings who are willing to lend a hand when I ask – and listen to me babble about cute crochet and Japan. :p I am thankful for those who supported my booth at Youmacon, those who’ve made me a better Etsian and for my blog followers . You guys really keep me thinking ahead so thank you. :3

My favorite would have to be the Ghost as it reminds me of a ghost I drew in one of my sketchbooks years ago and second would be the octopus but as everyone knows I like cute octopi. :> And horror of horrors – Luna just restocked the cute goldfish ami I really wanted! Nuuu… oh the cruelty!
