Gotta Catch Em All

Once upon a month ago, I got hooked on playing Pokemon Go! To declare this love to the world I decided to crochet a pokeball. :3 So with the help of this nifty pattern and my trusty yarn stash… BAM! This dream was realized.

But as I gazed upon my handiwork, I felt something was missing. I pulled out my hammer and stamped a metal tag with “gotta catch em all”. XD

Counteracting Business Blues

DSC_0348

Whatever you do, or dream, you can begin it. Boldness has genius and power and a magic in it.

-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Currently reading Craft Business Power: 15 Days to a Profitable Online Craft Business by Jason and Cinnamon Miles to counteract my craft business blues and this was a quote they have listed in chapter 1. I think that this is a powerful message but I am repeating something a little more powerful from the paragraph above it…

“I am going to learn to sell online.”

I am not a business woman, I am however a crafter who loves what she makes and loves selling to people who love them too. To be completely honest, Youmacon 2013 was a bust in sales. I brought all these little guys home with me (as well as 85% of my other stock) and put them away in shame. I haven’t thought about them since. However they came out again today as I was working in my studio and the disappointment from the convention – along with all the other orders that haven’t come through – is coming back.

That’s life for ya.

I can only mope so long about this before looking for a solution. The first step I have chosen to take is reading this ebook.

My New Studio!

DSC_0337

I now have a dedicated space for my art and craft work! Yay!

On Saturday I started moving my computer and supplies into the studio. Mostly everything in there now – it’s just not organized yet. This part of the process will most likely take a little while as I figure out what the most important supplies to have out are… Once I get the room setup I will snap another picture. 🙂

I am really happy to have the opportunity to grow into a better artist. Nothing is stopping me from creating now except myself. (Time to stop thinking and start doing!)

Finished! Rainbow Cross-stitch

Finished! Rainbow Cross-stitch

Purchased this cute mini cross-stitch kit from Walmart last year for $1 and finally completed it today! Took me nearly a week to do but that’s okay!

Not long after I brought the kit home, I opened it up – and promptly lost the instructions. (Oh noes! How could I ever complete it??? oAo) However I’ve been working with mini cross-stitch kits since I was a tween and know a little something-something. 😉 (I just followed the picture)
