Sunday Fun Day

Hey Everyone!

Beautiful day today! I went to St. Sebastian’s festival and hung out with some of my brothers. 🙂 


Always a lot to do and see! I really like how vibrant the colors are on this ride!     wpid-img_20150517_185104.jpg

My youngest bro had a wristband and went on every “good” ride including this one. I used to love going on the UFO!


After seeing him ride hop for a while, I caved and bought tickets for one ride. (These cost me $5!)wpid-img_20150517_181654.jpg

Of course I had to go on the most eye catching ride – the super high swings! I didn’t dare bring my phone with me!


Once back on the ground,  I snagged an affordable hotdog and tea from the church’s booth the Quick Stop. 🙂


After having cotton candy for dessert and winning a glass in the dime toss, it was time to wrap it up. I had fun and am glad I went. 🙂 Can’t wait for my parish festival!

A lot of anime and manga have little Japanese flags that pop up in random places – including on top of food. Why? Dunno. Maybe shameless self promotion? I’ve never bothered researching it, but have implemented it in some of my own characters/story lines with American flags and this has now spread to my food.

So, a little while back I purchased a pack of American flag toothpicks so I could start decorating my food too and tonight I did just that…


Japan, eat your heart out.

Can’t get much more American than this! XD

Happy Birthday Mom!


13″x9″ Carrot Cake

Today is my mom’s birthday and being the thoughtful, loving and caring daughter that I am, I made her a carrot cake – from scratch.

This year I followed along with the recipe from Food Network with the exception of a few things such as pastry flour (All Purpose will have to do), omitting salt, not using a sifter (mine died T^T), using a 13X9 instead of three 9″ round pans and not following the time guidelines. (24 hours before frosting the cake??! Not happening. ) The carrot cake is topped with cream cheese frosting and walnuts – and of course I had to do the obligatory carrots on top. 😀 Since the batter tasted so good I am confident that when it’s time to serve, the completed cake will taste even better! 🙂

Facebook Fried Rice

A few days ago someone had shared an easy recipe for fried rice on Facebook. This recipe is so easy that even I can make it! 🙂 (Sorry about the blurry progress photos – I chose the best available.)



Boil 2 c water. Add 1 tbs of margarine.


Measure 1 c rice


Stir in rice


Cover and Simmer your rice for 15 minutes


Set aside.

Stir-fry Vegetables


Heat pan and add 3 tbsp of sesame oil. Chop one small onion and stir-fry to translucency.


Add 1 cup of (thawed) peas and carrots (I added broccoli too). Stir-fry to preference.

Adding Egg


Lightly beat 2 eggs


Shove your vegetables to the side and add the egg. Make sure to scramble!

Pulling it Together


Measure out a 1/4 cup of Soy sauce


Add the rice and soy sauce to the pan. Mix thoroughly and fry to desired texture.


Voila! It’s done!

It was really easy and I had all the ingredients on hand! I also think it tastes way better than the fried rice at the local Chinese buffet. 🙂
