This image was in my Pinterest feed this morning and it really resonated with me. So I picked up my notebook and drove to Starbucks.
I snagged a coffee and a scone and scored a table in remote corner. I nibbled on my pastry as I watched the snow then I opened the notebook and stared at the blank page. What character should I write about today?
I went through the list. No, no, no… Everyone has been written about ad nauseum lately.
I reached for my phone to get photographic evidence of this attempt at playing author. No luck. I left it at home.
I contemplated the vast page again. I just needed a hook to start writing. After some musing I settled on writing simple back story which quickly springboarded into fleshing out a pivotal scene. I was so engrossed that two hours passed by quickly!
I know this was a staycation novelty but I can’t wait for an opportunity to do it again. 🙂
