I don’t know about you, but I always find cleaning my room a really really hard task. So I like watching Hoarders and other people clean their rooms for inspiration and to learn new techniques.
I chose to feature this video because of how messy the YouTuber’s bedroom is. When my room gets to that level, my brain freezes and I can’t do anything productive. No joke. I want to run away, yet I have to come back to it every night. It ends up being a real mental drag because I procrastinate for days and sometimes weeks before ever getting started.
After watching a few of these videos I started realizing that my bedroom may be adding to my overall stress level. I have most of my earthly possessions stored in my room because whenever I put anything away, I immediately have “need” for it. However since I started my current job last summer I haven’t needed much of anything in my bedroom other than my bed, clothes, and computer.
I’m really digging the idea that absence makes the heart grow fonder and think it’s time to put some space between me and my things. I want to be able to focus on who I am right now and who I am trying to become instead of being tied down to the decisions of yesterday. (I am already deciding what I would like to put away.)
Can’t wait to test this theory out!
