…Prom

I have much to say and only one post to say it all in for I decided today that this is it.

The #1 thing I want to talk about today is prom.  As you all know the 2nd annual Homeschool Formal Evening took place on Saturday, May 28th.  In my honest opinion for a homeschool event it turned out pretty well.

Alex and James got over to my house kinda late but it actually worked out great because my hair wasn’t anywhere near completion by the time they were originally supposed to arrive.  Heehee even when the guys finally did find my house, Dad had to entertain them for a wee while, while Mom and Sarah frantically finished pinning up my uber long locks and dutifully sprayed it to death.  Alex looked absolutely awesome in his tux (my cousin is jealous btw, she just can’t believe I ended up with a hottie lol) and all our boring neighbors got out of their little homes to watch all the goings on.  Needless to say Mom and Dad were thoroughly impressed with the guys and, lol, Mom absolutely loved James.  The restaurant that we went to was classy(nice work Em), and had very nice nice bathrooms  but my insides turned green when I read the description for the Honey Roasted Duck.  It was duckling.  Massive loss of appetite.  I ended up with the avacado salad which was really, really good btw, even mom’s homemade avacado salad is no match for Dolce Vita’s.  You should try it some time, I mean it, it is really good, it is, mmmm….  There were many teens in attendance but honestly prom was crawling with girls without dates.  I only counted 11 guys. (The guy to girl ratio was even worse than last year!) As Jimmy said it was “Chick heaven.” They all looked lovely don’t get me wrong… but for us girls who took the time to bring dates, it was, to say the least, threatening.  The music for the evening was really mediocre; far too many country songs, songs without beat and songs that small infantile children dance to.  The DJ was a riot when he would get onto the dance floor and bust some moves, but his taunts (though requested) were done in very, very poor taste.  *sigh* What I would’ve given to see the moms freak out with my preferred mix of metal, hard rock and scandelous lyrics!  “American Idiot” would have been fun, Pink’s “Get this Party Started”(the moms did freak out over this one last year) ”Always” by Saliva “The hand that feeds” Nine Inch Nails “Vertigo” by U2 and “Somebody Told Me” Killers for starters.  A real damper on my evening was my last years prom date and now ex-friend.  He wouldn’t smile, he lurked in the corners, darkened the doorways, wasn’t courteous in the least, wouldn’t participate in anything, stared at me all evening, was excessively rude and thoroughly humiliated me.  No one can possibly understand how betrayed I feel; he was my best friend for the past year, and I treated him as such.  Jerk.  After prom we all trooped over to Emily’s where half of the crowd had to automatically head on home and where the remainder of us lazily ended our evening.  Undoubtedly it was a memorable evening.

Update

Well…

As of late life has been really really busy to say the least.  College has been a lot of work and so stressful I have developed a nervous twitch.  Finals are this week and my grade is totally riding on these last two days of class which includes portfolio review, one final brilliant in-class drawing and a vocab test which makes up a huge part of my grade.  heh heh… no pressure…

As is already widely known, I do have a date for prom; Alex was kindly enough to agree to escort me.  I must say this shall be intriguing…  Although  I did have an escort last year, he was a fellow homeschooler and frankly there is a huge difference between school and homeschooled guys; rampant stick-in-the-mudism.

I got to git… my scuzzy portfolio needs a facelift.. Later!
