Yay! My very own Boyd’s Bear!
I’ve been wanting a Boyd’s Bear for several years now, but have alway been dissuaded by the price and my overall unattachment to toy bears. But today I found a little jem of a bear that overcame both of those concerns.
Adorable yes? I found it for $1.91 in the toy section of Value World. However, I knew it wasn’t a regular toy from the moment I picked it up. The coarse fur and felt pads as well as the loose stitching on its paws all spoke of not being intended for children. Even the bean filler was of a heavier quality which said “shelf item” not cuddly toy. A quick peek at the tag confirmed my musings and from there was promptly escorted to the checkout. 
Since the bear has joined my bedroom it will have to be named. So far I’ve been playing around with such names as:
- Juramin – after Yotsuba’s ‘berry gerra’ in volume 9
- Honey – because its sweet
- Baby – it reminds me of one
- After an old friend - um, just because… >.>;
